How to Download and Import Mailing Lists from YellowPages.com
I was moved to start an organization called
http://ChristianComputerHelp.org but, to let organizations such churches know of my service and organization I needed a way to contact these organizations even if they didn’t have an email address or website. Furthermore they probably get hundreds of emails per day and ANYONE from business to charitable organizations are more likely to look at a postcard or letter than an email. Take note folks. A postcard will get you a better return rate than an email.

Imagine going to YellowPages.com, copying and pasting 100’s of addresses one at a time. Grrrrrrrr. There had to be a better way. A couple years ago I had written a program to Capture Emails from Google Search. With more experience as a full time, self-employed in home computer tutor here in Honolulu Hawaii, I was able to write an even better program to provide not only myself with what I needed to promote ChristianComputerHelp.org, I was also able to provide you with what YOU require to develop YOUR business to the next level!
What Does The Program Do?
Have you ever heard of scraping data from a website? It’s a way to gather information from a website automatically. That’s What Rick’s YellowPages.com Scraper does. It gets information based on your search criteria and saves it to three different usable formats.
So here’s what Rick’s YellowPages.com Scraper Does
Gets information right from YellowPages.com based on the keywords you put in
Rick’s YellowPages.com Scraper remembers your last search
The software saves your mailing list using your search terms as the name of the file
The software opens your results folder upon completion of building your mailing list
The program saves your mailing list in three different formats
1. CSV - comma separated value
This allows you to import your search results into a database or mailing list program such as Microsoft Word, OpenOffice or
http://Avery.com a free online service to design your cards and import a mailing list.
2. INI File
INI stands for information file. For those in the know it has many different uses. I use it to guarantee NO DUPLICATES in the mailing list by using the address as a section header.
3. Text File Mailing List
This is a basic mailing list in case you wish to copy and paste results into a mailing program. The mailing list does not include the phone number of the business as the other two mailing list formats do. It also includes the words or Occupant at the end of the name.
Direct Mail is Still King for Mass Mailing
The reason I use a postcard is the information is IN PLAIN VIEW. I’ve spent over 30 years in sales and public relations. I can tell you from experience the less a customer or prospective customer has to do to get done what you want to get done, the more likely what you want to get done will get done (read that again
).
As an in home computer tutor here in Honolulu Hawaii with dual teaching certificates, I can also attest from both research and experience, the average person begins to forget information within a 48 hour period. Thus by using a postcard which may have been tossed on my future client’s desk and with NO envelope to put it back into for ‘safe keeping” the chances of my prospective client seeing my information again increases! An email gets deleted or placed in a folder which never gets looked at again!

Double Click StartGetYellowPagesInfo.exe
The first time you start the program a folder called Programs By Rick and a subfolder called Get Info from Yellow Pages Search will be generated on your desktop on your computer. The program will copy itself into the folder. Updates will do the same thing.

You may need to scroll down on the right depending on the size of your screen to get to the Autorun link to run the program. The frame you see above offers from

Following the above instructions log into The Christian Business Network Forum
Click the link on the menu to verify you’re a Business Group member or above. This will take you to a board on the forum only available to Business Owner Group members or above.
Leave the board open until you AutoRun the program and your membership is verified.
You have the option to complete a job from your last download by clicking that link
Select your search phrase for YellowPages.com. Churches, plumbers, contractors however your product or service is related.
Select the city of your search
For some reason, after the first click, you may need to click the link a second time for the program to activate. It’s such a small glitch I really haven’t taken time to look into it yet.
Select the state of your search
Don’t worry, this will work just as well if you live in a province and not a state.
Click Autorun Program by GodsBusinessWay.com
If you get this
Click the link on the menu which states
Click Here after joining the Business Owner Group or above to activate this program leave it open until the program verifies your membership
Click AutoRun Program by GodsBusinessWay.com again leaving the varification page open
You’ll get this
Internet Explorer will open YellowPages.com to spider your search results.
It doesn't matter if it’s your default browser or not.
On the lower right hand side of your screen you will see the progress of the program
Depending on how many pages of search results must be spidered will depend on how long it takes the program to run.
When the software is finished
This message will popup
Your search results folder will open
If your Results folder doesn’t open you may find it on your desktop by double clicking Programs By Rick > \Get Info from Yellow Pages Search > \Results
How to Design Your Postcard
Oh, you thought I was done? That I was only interested in showing you how to use Rick’s YellowPages.com Scraper so I could collect $2.00 per month. Go to

After logging in place your mouse over Templates on top then Click Design and Print Online
Search for Postcard or the Avery number if you plan on printing them on your computer as well as designing them
If you have work saved on Avery.com:
Most of you know I’m a big cloud fan and I ALWAYS save my work on Avery.com so I can access it from ANY computer just as I am right now.
Log in
Click MyAvery at the top
Click My Designs and Print Online Projects
Click View My Saved Projects
Find your saved project and click Open
You’ll find a free array of very user friendly tools to create your postcard. Everything here accept the logo and photo were done using the free Avery.com tools.
Study this postcard carefully. I used techniques from my book Sneaky Advertising and Marketing Tricks. Even using the word Call instead of phone increases your call rates because you're giving directions not just information.
Be sure to save your work regularly. I’ve seen computer crashes take out hours of work.
How to Import The csv File
Click on Import Data (Mail Merge) to merge your csv file created by Rick’s YellowPages.com Scraper or any other database. Watch the video first if you wish, but it’s pretty straight forward.
Preview and Print when you’re ready. Be sure to follow the directions if you’re using Google Chrome internet browser.
The printable document is a pdf. Therefore you can save it to print again or to bring to a printer or copy service.
The procedure I showed you is to print your mailing list directly onto your postcards. I like doing it this way. It saves a step and, I believe, looks better. You could follow a similar procedure and print your mailing list on labels as well.
