As you know starting a forum can be hard in the beginning with getting traffic to your forum. I know this cause it took a lot of promoting to start to get traffic to my forum. But before i launched the forum i purchased
VBSEO (vBulletin Search Engine Optimization) to make the forum SEO friendly in so many way's.
I read mixed reviews about this software but my thoughts was the people who said bad stuff about this software was the same folks who didn't continue to market there forums online. Buying this software and installing it will not bring in hundreds of members a day and #1 on all major search engines. Without getting backlinks to your forum, how will search engines know about it to constantly index it? It's been a year using
VBSEO and as you can tell, the search engine rankings for this forum on certain keywords lands us on page 1 and page 2 and still improving. There are so many settings to customize that i never looked into. I use the out of the box settings.
VBSEO helps with getting your forums threads/posts...etc indexed in all major search engines must faster and also you will recieve the
VBSEO sitemap generator in which automatically submits a sitemap to 4 search engines every 24 hours. That'll get the bot's over to your forum and index new posts/threads...etc

I'm being honest right now and making the investment from the start of the forum was the best thing i could of did for this forum's future.
