Landscaping Stone
If you have interest in using stone in your landscaping yard, garden, koi pond and bridge, do not limit yourself to traditional. Think about research or purchase single stones to add flair or accent to your plans. Landscaping stone can be versatile, used for simple decoration or as a foundation for much more.
Some uses for landscaping stone for flooring, like a patio, foundations for outbuildings, such as a gazebo, or even outbuildings completely made of stone. Whatever your eventual use of landscaping stone, search for unusual. Here are two examples of what you can find.
Geodes
Geodes, on the surface, seem mundane, round, fist size pieces of white or beige rock. They could serve in a planter or flowers for a little landscaping, but the real gem sets on these rocks inside. Some geodes are lined within layers of different materials silica or color still clear quartz crystals, the effect is a wavy, smooth, crystalline surface. You May not diamonds, was the main a slice open, but you should be able to find enjoyable specimens in the rock store. They are great for books inside, and can frame a showcase plant in your garden.
Thunder Eggs
It is close to the value using Thunder Eggs as a landscaping stone only for the great possibilities of conversation. If the name was not unusual, it is also the State of Oregon Rock (even if it is more than a stone a stone, but I suppose State Stone is asking too much.) Thunder eggs are very similar to geodes, as they are a shell filled with agate. They are different from geodes to the extent that they have a solid center, often showed a large contrast between the rocks of the hull brown and milky white and clear crystal center. Same solid, undivided Thunder eggs are interesting to watch, bubbles with protrusions that do give the appearance of some strange egg.
Check with rock shops that meet certain dogs rock single notes. While the price may prohibit you from paving your patio with Thunder Eggs, a combination of some unique specimens with more traditional landscaping stone would work well with almost any plan.
