How is Worktop Quartz Made?
« on: October 18, 2011, 10:22:36 PM »
Quartz worktops are made from a combination of natural quartz and epoxy resin. Natural quartz is the second most abundant mineral in the earth's crust (only Feldspar is more common) and has the overall formula of SiO2. It is crystalline in nature, and a very hard material, albeit brittle, and it is this hardness that given it some great properties after the scientists get hold of it.
