"We feature two major hardwood categories in our outstanding selection of exterior doors and matching millwork: mahogany and knotty alder.
Solid Wood Paneled Mahogany DoorMahogany has a somewhat tight grain structure, usually consistent, although some variations will add interest and charm to the warmth that mahogany, and species in the mahogany family offer. We use predominantly Indonesian mahogany, which is specifically red meranti. This timber comes from government-regulated forests to ensure future availability. Red meranti accepts stains wonderfully, and good control over depth of color can be attained. All woods have some color variations, not only from tree to tree, but even within a tree depending if the wood is coming from the heartwood or the sapwood."
