One of the most difficult things about having a functional kitchen is having oven mitts that are neither scorched/burnt, nor stained and nasty (that's going near my family's food after all!). That's my first love about these silicone oven mitts, they're super easy to fit into the dishwasher - making them easy to clean and sanitize (this includes the silicone mat too!). A quick test and I found I could easily pick up the coffee pot full of hot, fresh coffee - a secondary test of checking it while cooking egg drop soup, the part where you have to hover over the bubbling hot pot to pour/whisk the egg in and get your hands slowly cooked with steam....not an issue with the gloves on! Added bonus is that silicone has an anti-slip quality, something that makes carrying hot things so much safer and helps hold a hot pot or bowl full of that night's dinner in one place on the table or counter when hungry hands are heading in for firsts and seconds.
