How To Clean a HP Pavilion dv9000 Keyboard?

Are you one of those people who likes to munch on crackers... next to the keyboard? You may have left crummy residue but this isn't a problem since you can clean a HP Pavilion dv9000 Keyboard using a few materials. Keys begin to stick from spilled drinks, factory lubrication fading, and even dust or hair. You are more likely to type faster after you clean a laptop faster as performance is improved.
The HP Pavilion dv9000 is one of the easier laptops to clean. Because the keys are spaced to reduce the gaps, they don't seem to attract as much dirt and crumbs as other computers. Still, to give it a thorough cleaning will take at least 15 minutes. Before you start, unplug the laptop, turn it off and place it in a clean area where there is not a lot of static electricity.

Take your HP Pavilion dv9000 Keyboard] and clean it thoroughly. Make sure you only do this with the cotton swabs or it will become too wet. You might have to get into some really small spaces, so this is what the foam rubber is for. Take scissors and cut the rubber into smaller pieces. Pick up your tweezers to use this for the cleaning process.

If you want your laptop keyboard to be squeeky clean, do this same process again this time using Naptha which is also called "lighter fluid" and foam rubber. Use tweezers the same way you did before. What you are doing now is removing any petroleum residue along with the grease left behind on your keys.

The best way to do this is by removing all your keys first. Add them to the sink, inside of a strainer for cleaning. You can use hot water and dishwasher soap to clean them but only use a tiny amount for lathering. When finished, let them dry for 10 minutes on a paper towel.
Doing the same for any rubber components is needed as well. Add a sink stopper to ensure any of them don't escape and rinse with hot water just like you did before.

After you clean a HP Pavilion dv9000 Keyboard, lubrication is very important. This will cause the keys to become easier to use. Coat each key at a 50 degree angle with the Super Lube Dry film lubricant.  Make sure you do this on each side for overall coverage. Set aside to let dry a few  minutes . Make sure you don't over-do this step because the lube may cause the letters on the keys to fade away.
