The Three Basic Types Of A Cleaning Service

Just like any other kinds of business endeavor, setting up a cleaning business firstly needs a specific area to start on.  It will be unwise to diversity a little to early in the program since you primarily need to establish your reputation in a certain area.  When you have already become a household name and you are quite known by a lot of people, then that’s the time you consider the possibility of looking into expanding in another area.

There three basic cleaning service areas that you can choose to start from.

First and probably the most sensible of all three is residential cleaning. The skills and equipment needed in this area is very familiar to everyone. You can base the quality of your cleaning service on how you want your own home to be cleaned. Some of the services that you can provide can include the vacuum, a mop, and rags. Cleaning windows is quite a tiresome work, especially if the windows are large or high. You will need to have a ladder for this and you can charge extra for it.

Whether you are cleaning on your own or you send one or two employees to the clients’ houses, still depends on how big the house is. Cleaning a smaller house can take the whole day if there is just one person doing all the cleaning. So, the larger those is, the more people should there be in the cleaning team.

Make sure that your team of cleaners is neat and they should look presentable and their uniforms should be comfortable to work in. Have a friendly looking crew and make sure to run background checks and investigations on each one of them to ensure that they are really trustworthy.

The next type of cleaning service is carpet cleaning. This one is the only specialized service of the three since this only focuses in getting carpets cleaned. Carpet cleaning can be very time consuming, so it is not unusual that it has made its individual niche in the cleaning industry. There are also special equipments and chemicals needed to clean carpets so this business can be a pretty pricey business endeavor to get in.

If you settle on carpet cleaning as the one you’d be most effective at, then you also have to make sure that you know your carpets. There are various types of carpets and some requires different cleaning technique than the others. Clients usually contacts you, and you or someone will have to go to the site and distinguish what type of carpet is to be cleaned, how large the carpeted area is, how much stain can be removed and what marks will stay. Only then would be the time to create costing, considering who much time it will take to shampoo, what type of shampoo will be used and how much time will be needed to dry it up. Always be frank about the time and price to your clients.

And lastly, you may also want to veer into commercial cleaning services. Among the three, this is the most expensive and probably the most challenging since it entails a whole lot of workload from cleaning toilets to offices. You will need much care because a cleaning disaster may cause a whole office to temporarily shut down. You will need bonds and insurance when you decide to go on to this kind of business. Of the three types of cleaning business, commercial cleaning would be the most profitable.
