Why a Professional Design is Worth The Extra Money
« on: May 07, 2018, 10:50:27 PM »
Wanting to save money on your advertising budget and design budget makes sense when you look at it from a spending perspective. It however does not make sense when you look at the bigger picture. That is to say, when you are looking at the revenue generated afterwards. Perhaps at first it felt like it made sense paying less for a graphic design until you realized paying just a little more would have quadrupled your success rate and brought in 4 Times as much money. So saving an extra $100-500 might have actually cost you an extra $10,000 - 20,000 in the long run because your marketing materials just weren't as professional, noteworthy and eye catching as they could have been had you chosen a better graphic designer or marketing firm to handle your design and marketing needs. This goes for any business, from construction companies and law firms, to retail stores, real- estate agents and nightclubs alike. No matter what business you are in you need a professional Logo design, corporate identity, professional branding and marketing materials that stand out and get you noticed. The more professional you look on paper (and on the web) the more customers will trust your company with their hard earned money.

When hiring a great graphic design firm you should pay attention to a few things:
  • Make sure you like the majority of their past designs and overall body of work (if you like it most likely you will like what you get for your business as well)
  • Does all their work look professional and to a standard that you feel comfortable with
  • Understand the time needed to create your design and realize clear communication of expectations is a must
  • Be clear on the design process of your prospective designer so you know how many revisions you may ask for if needed
  • Be clear on payment terms - Most good designers require full payment or half down but some may not, find out.
  • What formats will be delivered to you as the final product? Most designers will not release multi layered .PSD files or native AI files without additional compensation Most brochures, flyers and documents are delivered flattened and ready fro print as well as modified for website and social media usage. Logos are sometimes released in editable formats depending on the client's needs and graphic designer's policies.
The main thing here is to make you look professional and trustworthy, to make it easier to sell your own product or services and to help visually sell things as well.
A good graphic goes a long way to make you stand out from the competition. Don't sell yourself short by shortchanging this process give it the attention, time and effort it deserves!

A professional Logo Like the examples shown below will go a long way to making your company look professional

It is better to spend an extra $100 on your Graphic Design needs to make an extra $2000-100,000 after all than it is to lose out on all those sales because you decided to invest less.
Or as my sister likes to say "Ser Barato Costa Mas" which means "Being Cheap (or trying to save a buck) costs you more"
